We support a different endangered species each year. Since our inaugural event in 2004, we have help to raise awareness and funds for the following endangered species: The Eastern Black Rhino, The Cheetah, The African Elephant, The Orangutan, the Frog, the Chimp, the Polar Bear and the Black-Footed Cat.
Our event is a wonderful combination of providing a fun, unique racecourse that starts in beautiful Swope Park and runs through the entire Zoo. Participants love the beautiful scenery, as they wind their way through the wetlands of Kenya, on past Botswana and up through Australia. This event caters to the avid runner, with Chip Timing, to the occasional runner or walker. Families love coming out to enjoy this great event that showcases all of the great updates being made at the Kansas City Zoo.
